A Columbus moped driver was arrested on drug charges after being pulled over for a traffic violation early this morning.

52-year-old Jeffrey T. Jessie is facing charges of possession of methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia as well as driving while suspended following this morning’s traffic stop.

Columbus police report that an officer stopped Jessie at about 2:30 a.m. this morning near 13th and California streets for a minor traffic violation, and discovered the suspended license. As he was being taken into custody, a search of his clothing revealed the drugs and paraphernalia, police allege.
