Relay for Life will take to Hope Town Square Saturday

The Town of Hope will be having its annual Relay for Life to benefit the American Cancer Society, starting Saturday morning on the Town Square.

Organizer Jonna Shepherd explains that the event will go from 8 a.m. in the morning to 11 p.m. in the evening. It will start with a breakfast for cancer survivors and a guest at 8 a.m., followed by opening ceremonies at 9 a.m. and laps to celebrate survivors and caregivers.

The event will feature speakers, a fish fry by the Hartsville Fire Department, decorations around the Town Square and other activities.

There will be live music in the bandstand to entertain walkers and guests.

She said the event concludes with a display of luminaries at 9 p.m. and closing ceremonies at 11 p.m.
