Drug-dealing arrests made after area traffic stops

Recent traffic stops in Seymour and in Jennings County led to drug-dealing arrests.

Seymour police report that they stopped a vehicle for traffic infractions at about 2:25 p.m. Monday afternoon on Springer Road. The officer grew suspicious and a search led to the discovery of four grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and items used to sell drugs. 33-year-old Stephen C. Stidam of Crothersville and 26-year-old North Vernon resident Amy N. Wardrop are facing charges including dealing methamphetamine and possessing methamphetamine. Stidam is facing additional charges of driving while suspended and maintaining a common nuisance while Wardrop is facing an additional charge of visiting a common nuisance.

Jennings County deputies report that 46-year-old John Dearborn was arrested after at traffic stop for driving across the centerline just before midnight Sunday on Country Manor Road in Country Squire Lakes. Police say they saw drug related items in plain view. A search revealed a digital scale, syringes, marijuana and 9 grams of meth along with other drug paraphernalia, according to police reports.

Dearborn is facing preliminary charges including dealing methamphetamine, possessing meth, a syringe, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, trafficking with an inmate as well as maintaining a common nuisance.
