Bartholomew County’s most wanted suspect for this week was picked up quickly after the department informed local media about the warrant out for his arrest.

Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department Spokesperson Judy Jackson says that 38-year-old Steven R. Burton was apprehended by Sheriff’s Deputies Wednesday afternoon in Elizabethtown after the department received a tip as to where he was located. When they arrived, deputies reportedly found Burton sitting inside a car. Jackson says that when Burton saw law enforcement approaching, he fled the car on foot, but was captured in short order by Capt. Brandon Slate and Deputy Chad Swank.

Burton was wanted on a warrant for Petition to Revoke Probation. He was booked in the Bartholomew County Jail.
