Seymour plans in works for 2024 solar eclipse

The City of Seymour is making plans for next year’s solar eclipse.

According to the city, there will be a pre-party set for April 7th of 2024, from 9 a.m. in the morning to 9 p.m. at night in downtown Seymour. It will include science presentations, interactive activities, live music, arts and crafts vendors and food trucks.

The city announced this week that it is looking for vendors for the party. Costs are $25 for non profit groups, $50 for arts and crafts vendors and $100 for food trucks or other booths.

Organizers say that space is limited and application are available at Seymour City Hall. The deadline is December 1st.

Jennings community plans for 2024 Eclipse festivities

Jennings County, Vernon and North Vernon are making plans for next year’s solar eclipse.

According to North Vernon Main Street, the community will be at the center of the path of total eclipse in April of 2024. And they are planning an epic celebration. The community is looking for volunteers for an Eclipse 2024 weekend on April 6th through the 8th saying that the universe has chosen the community and they are planning a countywide bash to celebrate with visitors expected from around the world.

Organizers are looking for vendors, musicians, food trucks, businesses, non-profits, and for those with space for parking and lodging including campsites for the festivities.
