Our Hospice recognized for patient, family satisfaction

Our Hospice of South Central Indiana is being recognized for its performance in grading by its patients and their families.

According to the Columbus-based facility, the hospice is being recognized with the honors award in the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems grading. The scoring is based on family and caregiver satisfaction rates. Our Hospice officials say that the top-tier performance is an indicator of the quality, compassionate care provided to patients and their loved ones.

The grading administered by MatrixCare and required by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

The awards program celebrates hospices that demonstrate excellence across key patient-experience metrics. Those include communication, timely support, respect, emotional and spiritual support, pain management, caregiver training, overall rating, and willingness to recommend.

Steph Cain, president of Our Hospice, credited the staff because of “their compassion, and their commitment to Making Every Moment Count.”

Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, based in Columbus, serves clients and their families in 22 counties. There are also offices in Greensburg and North Vernon.
