The Seymour Fire Department is inviting the public to come out next week to celebrate the newest fire truck.

The firefighters will be doing a ceremonial “push in ceremony” at Station 3 starting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 15th. That will welcome the new Ladder 3 fire truck to city service.

According to the fire department push-in ceremonies date back to the 1800s when horse-drawn fire apparatus could not be easily backed into the fire house.
