Man found driving nearly 3 times legal alcohol limit

A Columbus man is under arrest and being accused of driving with a blood alcohol level of almost three times the legal limit.

Columbus police say that an officer saw a vehicle squealing its tires and driving erratically near 25th Street and Central Avenue at about 1:30 a.m. this morning. Police report that they stopped the car being driven by 28-year -old Trenton C. White of Columbus and the officer noticed a strong smell of alcohol.

White failed several field sobriety tests and blew a .223 percent blood alcohol level, according to officers. He was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated with a BAC greater than .15 percent.
