Columbus Police arrest local man on drug charge, warrants

The Columbus Police Department says that officers arrested a local man early Tuesday morning after it was determined that he had two warrants for his arrest.

Lt. Matt Harris, CPD spokesman, says that at approximately 2:10 a.m., officers saw 33-year-old James T. Garris, at a gas station in the 1700 block of North National Road, where they confirmed that he had outstanding Bartholomew County warrants. Police say that Garris was taken into custody without incident. While officers were searching Garris, they allegedly found a small bag of methamphetamine in his clothing. Garris was arrested on the warrants and a preliminary charge of Possession of Methamphetamine.
