Several members of a local family were injured in a crash on North Marr Road yesterday.

Bartholomew County Clerk Jay Phelps says that his in-laws had his daughter in their van on North Marr Road at County Road 600N Sunday when a vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign, hitting his family’s van broadside, causing it to roll several times, smashing against the brick Armuth Acres subdivision sign and ending upside down in a yard.

Phelps mother-in-law, Kim Dillingham, was driving at the time of the accident. She was able to free Phelps’ daughter, the front seat passenger, from the wreckage. Her husband,  Tim, was trapped into the wreckage until he was freed by Clifford volunteer firefighters and Bartholomew County deputies.

The Dillinghams were taken to IU Methodist hospital as was Phelps daughter. The girl was later transferred to Riley Hospital for Children, Phelps says.

There is no word yet on the other driver or passengers in the crash.
