A stop for a suspended driver’s license turned into a drug arrest yesterday afternoon in Columbus.

An officer saw a vehicle in the 1900 block of Caldwell Lane at about 5 p.m. and when the officer ran a check of the vehicle’s license plate, he found that the driver, Jonathan K. Villegas had a suspended license.

Police stopped the car and allegedly located three digital scales and heroin inside the vehicle, says Lt. Matt Harris, spokesman for the police department.  Villegas was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia and driving while suspended.
