Columbus police made an arrest on drug charges after recognizing a local man driving on a suspended license this weekend.

Police report that an officer saw 46-year-old Dana Jackson driving a car on the west side of Columbus at about 6:30 Saturday evening. After confirming that Jackson’s license was suspended, the officer stopped the driver on Jonathan Moore Pike.

Jackson was taken into custody and a search revealed heroin, a drug pipe and other drug paraphernalia in his pockets, says Lt. Matt Harris, spokesman for the police department. Officers also discovered a digital scale in Jackson’s trunk. He was arrested on preliminary charges including possession of meth, heroin and drug paraphernalia and driving while suspended.
