Sgt. Stephen Wheeles, Indiana State Police spokesman, says that troopers responded to the crash on I-74, near the 157 mile marker, just before 7 a.m. He says that the initial investigation indicated that a pickup truck, driven by 32-year-old Johnathan A. Orr, of Greensburg, was traveling east on I-74. Orr is believed to have lost control of the pickup after a tire on the vehicle became deflated. ISP says the pickup then entered the median of I-74 before overturning and rolling into the westbound lanes of I-74, coming to rest in the middle of the westbound lanes.

Wheeles says that Orr sustained serious injuries in the crash. He was air lifted from the scene to University of Cincinnati Hospital. A passenger, 27-year-old Joshua L. Sangl, of Saint Paul, was also hurt. He was transported by ambulance to Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville.

Indiana State Police say that the westbound lanes of I-74 were closed for approximately one hour for the investigation and cleanup. The eastbound lanes of I-74 were closed briefly during the investigation.
