City Council approves measure to aid possible senior housing development

Work continues on a proposed senior housing development on the site of the former Golden Castings foundry.

Robin Hilber, programs coordinator for the Columbus Office of Community Development, explains that the proposal, called Gateway Senior Village, failed last year to get the necessary tax credits from the state. Developers say these tax credits are needed to make the project economically feasible…

Hilber says there seems to have been a change in the state determines who will get these credits…

The Columbus City Council voted this week to approve the addendum. The state is expected to announce the recipients of these tax credits in the next few months. Hilber added that there are three projects in the city applying for these highly competitive tax credits.
